LOUIS
EMMITT-STERN

Louis is an award-winning writer and director from Gibraltar based in South London.  

 

His debut full-length play SLIPPERY, developed on Soho Theatre Writers Lab, won the Tony Craze Award 2021, and subsequently received a workshop and rehearsed reading at Soho Theatre. 

 

As a playwright, his work has been performed at Soho Theatre, Watford Palace Theatre, Southwark Playhouse, The Pleasance Islington, Ivy Arts Centre, and supported by Farnham Maltings.  Louis trained at Guildford School of Acting, graduating with a First Class BA (Hons), and is an alumni of the Gibraltar Academy of Music and Performing Arts. He was part of Soho Theatre Writers Lab, Soho Writers Alumni Group, National Theatre Young Playwrights Programme, and Young Lyric Directors Course at Lyric Hammersmith. 

 

Louis was a finalist for a HM Government of Gibraltar Cultural Services Award for his production of Duncan Macmillan’s LUNGS, and for his work with young people in the arts and education. He is currently developing original work for both stage and screen.
