LOUIS
EMMITT-STERN

Louis won Soho Theatre's Tony Craze Award in 2021 for his debut play SLIPPERY, currently in development for full production.

 

His play I FUCKED YOU IN MY SPACESHIP received a sold-out premiere at VAULT Festival 2023, winning the Origins Award for Outstanding New Work. I FUCKED YOU IN MY SPACESHIP subsequently transferred to Soho Theatre in June 2023Louis was called "a rising-star playwright" by Time Out. The play is published by Nick Hern Books. A new Australian production will premiere in Melbourne in October 2024. 

 

He is currently on attachment to Oxford Playhouse as a writer-in-residence, as part of the Playhouse Playmaker's scheme. His latest play, commissioned by the Oxford School of Drama, will premiere at Southwark Playhouse in September 2023.

Louis' other work has been performed at Watford Palace Theatre, Soho Theatre, Southwark Playhouse, The Pleasance Theatre Islington, LAMDA, Ivy Arts Centre, and supported by Farnham Maltings. Louis is represented by Maddie O'Dwyer at Berlin Associates.
