WORKSHOP FACILITATION & TEACHING

Louis delivers workshops in playwriting, theatre-making, acting and devising for theatres, schools, colleges, universities and drama schools across the UK and internationally. 

 

He is a mentor and tutor on the MA/MFA Writing for Stage and Broadcast Media at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, and has previously taught at the University of Surrey, and Royal Holloway, University of London. 

He has delivered workshops in acting and theatre-making for theatres including Battersea Arts CentreNorthcott Theatre, Exeter, and Omnibus Theatre, Clapham, as well as several schools and colleges across the country.

He specialises in dramatic composition and  'embodied playwriting' for actors, writers and theatre-makers. A practical, studio-based approach to dramatic composition for devised theatre, solo performance, and scriptwriting; developing actors/writers dramaturgical toolkit through improvisational and performer-training practices.

 

Louis previously worked with the Widening Participation and Outreach team at the Guildford School of Acting to deliver on the Funded Regional Outreach Project,  a nation-wide scheme in collaboration with GSA, the Federation for Drama Schools, and UK charity Get Into Theatre.

Louis ran Introduction to Writing for Television workshops for the Gibraltar Broadcasting Cooperation's inaugural TV & Radio youth summer broadcasting camp. 

In 2021, Louis was commissioned by the Gibraltar Cultural Services to deliver a series of online video playwriting workshops as part of Gibraltar's Youth Arts Jamboree. In 2022, Louis ran a suite of acting masterclasses across several schools and colleges in Gibraltar. Louis also delivered a series of workshops across Surrey and the South East to promote access to drama school and university arts courses for young people receiving free school meals.
