Louis Emmitt-Stern directed the Gibraltar premiere of Duncan Macmillan’s Lungs, as a response to climate-change debates during the 2019 Gibraltar General Election, and the Gibraltar abortion referendum in 2020.

Gibraltar's first theatre production post-lockdown, Lungsreceived a sold-out run and critical acclaim from HM Government of Gibraltar Minister for the Environment, Sustainability, Climate Change, Heritage and Culture, the Hon Dr John Cortes, amongst several other Members of Parliament.

Lungs opened on 21 July 2020, directed by Louis Emmitt-Stern, and performed by Christina Linares and Louis Emmitt-Stern. It was co-produced by Louis Emmitt-Stern and the Gibraltar Cultural Services, part of Gibraltar's Ministry for Culture.
